Small data, clear purpose

Privacy policy

Browsing is public. Accounts are optional. Reviewer deanonymization is not a feature and never will be.

Short version

You can browse and search without an account. We collect account data only when you choose to register, and interaction data only when you save, follow, vote, or comment.

Data we process

  • Account: handle, email address, password hash, account timestamps, and login session tokens.
  • Optional activity: saved papers, followed venues, votes, and comments you submit.
  • Local browser data: a random session identifier, authentication token, and local demo interaction state.
  • Operational data: hosting and security logs may temporarily include IP address, request time, route, user agent, and error details.

We do not sell personal data. We do not attempt to identify anonymous reviewers. We do not use paper PDFs, author rebuttals, or private OpenReview content in public rankings.

Why we process it

Account and activity data provide the features you request, prevent abuse, secure the service, investigate errors, and handle score disputes. The legal bases may include performance of the service you request, legitimate interests in operating a secure public-interest research tool, and compliance with legal obligations.

Storage and service providers

Account records and interactions are stored in the production database. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Hosting, database, source-control, and AI providers may process limited data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. Public review text sent for scoring was already publicly available on OpenReview.

Retention and your choices

Account data is retained while the account remains active or as needed for security and legal obligations. Sessions remain until logout, revocation, or operational cleanup. You can delete your own comments and delete your account from the account center. To request account access, correction, export, or restriction, email privacy@smartselling.work. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you.

Public sources

Official review excerpts are attributed to OpenReview and linked to their source under CC BY 4.0. A review may later change or be removed at the source; report stale or sensitive material through the score-report link.
